i love this video!
my love, manchester orchestra
i’m at a club with my bff lolly and i say “I think that guy at the bar is Marc Broussard, you know the opener” as i look at a bearded shy looking hippie guy in a hat. she says, “Nah, I think he’s taller than that”.
Announcer: “Welcome to the stage…Marc Broussard!!!” guy puts down his beer and slowly walks to the stage, up the steps and straps on a guitar.
Moral to the Story: Sometimes that scraggly dude at the bar IS the entertainment and not just another hippy.
my summer jam now has a video featuring the one and only mikey post. google it.
dunno who this is, but i am in love. minus the almost ruining of the awesome moment by the drunk sing along-ers.
Guitarist, innovator and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Les Paul died today from complications from pneumonia, the AP reports. He was 94 years old.
Paul leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, which includes not only his recording innovations and techniques, inventions (including the eight-track), music catalog – and of course his eponymous solid body electric guitar. He was an influence not only on casual musicians, but also on those commonly regarded as rock gods in their own right: Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, and many others. In fact, as Paul’s Hall of Fame bio notes, Jimmy Page said that “He’s the man who started everything. He’s just a genius.” Eddie Van Halen shared the sentiment: “Without the things you’ve done, I wouldn’t be able to do half the things I do.”
The name Les Paul may as well be synonymous with rock music, and he will be missed.
She samples The Zombies and sings the tag line “Give it to me right, or don’t give it to me at all”. Melanie Fiona is my new hero.
